Albertas Krajinskas and Jurate Bucmyte

Albertas Krajinskas was born in Varniai in 1956. He studied design at the Vilnius Academy of Art from 1974 till 1979. In 1981 he started to work as a designer of agricultural machinery. In past he used to design and construct small plastic art pieces, modern furniture and textile articles. He also has some experience as a graphic designer. More recently, Albertas has been reconstructing models of old fishing boats of the Curonian Lagoon. The favourite motifs of his works are the life scenes of the Curonian fishermen and boats. He is also very interested in historical shipping visual sign system.
Albertas has been a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Association since 1986. His works have been showcased in exhibitions in Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Finland, Poland, Germany, Hungary, Malta, the United Arab Emirates, etc.
Jurate Bucmyte was born in Vilnius in 1958. From 1976 to 1981 she studied architecture at the Vilnius Academy of Art. Jurate worked as an architect-restorer between 1981 and 1985. She has been a member of the Lithuanian Artists' Association and a free-lance artist since 1986.
Jurate designs furniture, modern jewellery and mini textile articles. She is also quite accomplished as a graphic designer. She reverted to the watercolour drawings, painting, and ethnic culture studies as of 1986. The prevailing motifs in this artist's creative work are the old wooden architecture of the Curonian Spit, sceneries of the sea, the lagoon littorals and the old town of Vilnius. Jurate has taken part in exhibitions in Latvia, Estonia, Russia, Finland, Poland, Germany, Hungary, Malta, the United Arab Emirates, etc.
Both artists have been taking part in various art symposiums and plein-airs. Their works have been acquired by museums and private collectors from Australia, Switzerland, Austria, Japan, USA, France, England, Germany, Finland and other countries.
