Omar Vulpinari

OMAR VULPINARI

ITALY

Omar Vulpinari is creative director of Expanded Media at Fabrica, the Benetton Group communication research centre founded by Luciano Benetton and Oliviero Toscani in Treviso, Italy.

His focus is on practice research in communication design for social impact. He has directed social and cultural projects for UNWHO, UNICEF, UNESCO, UNDCP, UNICRI, Max-Planck-Gesellschaft, The World Bank, Lawyers Committee for Human Rights, Witness, Amnesty International, Reporters Without Borders, ArteFiera, Istituto Luce, The New Yorker Magazine, Flash Art Magazine, Electa and Cult TV - Fox International.

Fabrica’s work under his direction has been featured in major international media and dedicated exhibitions at the GGG Tokyo, the DDD Osaka, the ZeroOne Design Center Seoul and the MAK Vienna. In the exhibition, Fabrica: Les Yeux Ouverts it was featured at the Centre Pompidou in Paris, La Triennale in Milan, the Shanghai Art Museum and the Shiodomeitalia Creative Center in Tokyo.

Omar Vulpinari has recent winner of the Graphis Platinum G advertising award for the UNWHO - UNICEF Global Child Injury Prevention campaign. He has been teaching communication design at the IUAV University of Venice in San Marino since 2005. Omar is currently Vice President of Icograda, leading Iridescent – The Icograda Journal of Design Research and the Icograda Design Education Manifesto 2011.
